Marshall Stands With Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers

Congressman Roger Marshall, M.D. issued the following statement in response to the Supreme Court's decision today in the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) v. Becerra. Today's ruling stops a California state law that forced pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise abortion.

"Today's Supreme Court decision is a win for pro-life supporters across the nation. No one should be forced by the government to say things they don't believe. Today's ruling in the NIFLA v. Becerra case overturned an unconstitutional California law that forced pro-life pregnancy centers to display messaging that advertises for abortion. The hostility from the California state government towards people of faith and the pro-life movement has no place in our society. Today's decision upholds the first amendment and allows pregnancy centers to continue to help women choose life."

"I'm proud to have co-signed an amicus brief to the Supreme Court, along with 144 other members of Congress, expressing my support for these pro-life pregnancy centers. While today's ruling is a victory, we must continue the fight to protect life."
